About Tufts and Tufts in London
Tufts students come from a liberal arts background to enroll for at least half their course load in one of UCL’s academic departments. For the remainder of their courses, they may choose from any suitable course offered by any other department of the university. Over the twenty year history of the programme, Tufts students have studied in almost every department at UCL, including the Slade school of Art and the Bartlett School of Architecture. The year abroad is a very formative one for the students, and a significant number of Tufts-in-London alumni return to the UK for graduate study.
Tufts-in-London maintains a program office located in the South Wing of the main quadrangle. The office provides a full range of academic counseling and student services, acts as liaison between students and University College London as well as the School of Oriental and African Studies, provides a program of extracurricular cultural and social activities, and coordinates all aspects of the program. The Tufts in London office is open to students on a daily basis. Each student is also assigned an academic adviser from the faculty of UCL or SOAS.
