Advanced Russian
The course is taught in the Department of Russian (School of Slavonic and East European Studies, SSEES).
It is intended for students who already possess a sound knowledge of Russian. It is primarily a language course aimed at improving fluency and accuracy in both written and spoken Russian to a high level. Translation from Russian into English occupies a relatively minor part.
Places on this course are limited and require the approval of the Department of Russian.
The assessment for the course is based on a three-hour unseen examination (of which approximately 15% concerns translation skills).
