Information for undergraduate students
Tuition fees
UCL’s annual tuition fees cover the full cost of your tuition and examinations. Fees for subsequent years are subject to increase. Some programmes have field courses which may incur an additional charge from the academic department.
The fees for undergraduate programmes can be found at: www.ucl.ac.uk/current-students/money
It is a condition of your enrolment that you have sufficient financial resources to pay for your programme of study. Self-paying students must pay their tuition fees at or prior to enrolment. Sponsored students must provide evidence of their sponsorship prior to or at enrolment. UK and EU students taking up a Student Fee Loan must apply prior to enrolment and provide evidence of their application. Students failing to provide proof of loan or sponsorship will be required to pay at least 50% of their fees at enrolment.
Paying your tuition fees
There are various methods you can use to pay your fees. These are detailed at:
www.ucl.ac.uk/current-students/money/fees-payment/invoices
Students enrolling in September 2011 can pay their tuition fees in two equal instalments. The first payment is due at or before enrolment, the second by 1 February 2012. No more than two instalments are permissible.
Overseas self-financing undergraduate students can apply to pay for the whole of their programme of study in advance at the start of their first year, with the level of fee fixed at that of their first year of study. Requests to pay in this way should be made in writing to UCL’s Fees and Credit Control Manager prior to the start of the programme of study. Once a student has started their programme, this option is not available.
Overseas fee paying students who request a review of their fee status classification are required to pay the overseas fees whilst the review is undertaken. A refund can be requested if a student is subsequently re-classified as a result of the review.
Tuition fees are not normally refundable to students who leave during the year.
Failure to pay
If you fail to pay at least 50% of your tuition fees or provide proof of sponsorship or evidence that you have applied for a fee loan within 28 days from the start of term, you will be suspended from UCL.
Further information
