Transition at UCL
Starting a degree can be a daunting experience. The Transition Programme supports new first-year students ensuring they settle in quickly and are able to achieve their potential. The programme is specifically designed for each of the undergraduate programmes at UCL, and is run by members of staff within each department and the Transition team.
Every first year student is assigned a Transition mentor for their first term at UCL. Transition mentors are later-year students from within your department. They will work with you and other first-year students in small groups on a weekly basis throughout the first term to help you in getting to know UCL and London as well as focussing on academic issues and topics relevant to your degree programme.
Aside from mentoring, the Transition programme offers support on UCL’s online learning environment Moodle and the Transition website. These feature lots of useful information about UCL and its students, including student profiles, academic skills resources, online workshops and learning opportunities.
