Online Discussion

Moodle makes it easy to
incorporate a discussion forum into a course but it is
much harder to
ensure that students make the most of it - particularly when they have
the option of communicating face-to-face.
Presenters were Jill Russell (Primary Care and Population
Health/Medical Education) and Holly Smith (CALT). They outlined their
experiences of using computer conferencing and discussed ways to make
asynchronous discussion work in distance learning and campus-based, blended learning courses.
