Programme for 2010-2011
Note all sessions will take place from 1.05pm - 1.55pm in Cruciform Lecture Theatre 2.
Supporting personal tutors in supporting key skills
Jenny Marie - CALT and Pam Houston - Division of Biosciences

Students'
time at UCL will give them a solid academic education but it is
becoming increasingly important for students to have broader 'life
skills' on top of their scholarship. Jenny will talk about the main UCL
key skills agenda and some new systems to help students audit and plan
their skills development. Pam will talk about a programme within Life
Sciences which is providing a robust personal tutor system which
encourages better engagement with key skills training. She will show how
a series of tutorials have been embedded within a core year one module
to provide both contact with a personal tutor but also essential skills
awareness and training.
