Provost's Teaching Awards nominations deadline extended

The deadline for nominations for the 2012 Provost's Teaching Awards has been extended to midnight on Friday March 23rd.
Now in their sixth year, the Provost's Teaching Awards provide an opportunity to showcase the leadership of UCL's staff and to reward staff who are making outstanding contributions to the learning experience and success of students.
The competition this year will be overseen by Professor Anthony Smith, Vice-Provost (Education), and managed by the UCL Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CALT).
In addition to the ten existing awards (each of which rewards winners with a certificate and a £2,500 pre-tax bonus), two new categories will be launched this year.
The first is the Award for Team Collaboration and Achievement in Teaching, which recognises collaborative working within and/or across disciplines and staff groups that has resulted in outstanding teaching and learning. The winning team will receive certificates and a shared prize of £5,000.
The second new category is the Internationalised Department Award, which celebrates the significant work that has been done to internationalise the curriculum and the impact it is having. The prize for this award is a certificate and £5,000 to be added to the winning department's budget.
Professor Anthony Smith said: "Our vision is for UCL to be recognised as a global leader in teaching as well as in research. These awards recognise and reward the talent and innovation of our staff in giving students an inspirational learning experience."
The deadline for submissions has now been extended to midnight on Friday March 23rd 2012.
