Second Notice

A Workshop will be held under the auspices of CCP2 to review progress in both theoretical and experimental aspects of positron collision physics and systems involving antihydrogen. It will also be an opportunity to mark the retirement of Edward Armour, a former chairman of CCP2, and James Walters, two prominent theoreticians in this field.

Scientific Programme

Among the invited speakers are Edward Armour (Nottingham), Mike Charlton (Swansea), Richard Drachman (NASA Goddard), Gleb Gribakin (QUB), Svante Jonsell (Swansea), Nella Laricchia (UCL), Jonathan Tennyson (UCL), James Walters (QUB).

The scientific programme will take place in the Pearson Lecture Theatre, commencing at 10.00 am on Thursday 18 June and concluding during the afternoon of Friday 19 June.

Registration

There is no registration fee for the workshop but all participants must register for the conference by 22nd May by completeing the application form

The conference will begin early evening of Wednesday 17 June, commencing at 5.00 pm, in Room E5 on the Ground Floor of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, UCL, followed by a buffet reception.

Poster session

Participants are invited to display posters describing their recent work. The dimensions of the poster boards are 1 m high and 1.7 m wide.

Workshop Dinner

The Workshop Dinner will be held during the evening of Thursday 18 June at the Old Sessions House (www.sessionshouse.com) in Clerkenwell, a short journey by Underground from UCL. The cost per person will be £35.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be available in Ian Baker House, a recently completed student hall of residence close to UCL, or in nearby hotels. The cost of bed and breakfast in Ian Baker House is £35 per night. For participants who would prefer to stay in a hotel, a list of nearby hotels can be provided upon request to John Humberston (j.humbertson AT ucl.ac.uk)
