Students must take four Core Modules and choose two Optional Modules. Each taught module is worth 15 credits. Assessment is performed through a combination of in-class exercises, written assignments, tests and 1.5 hour exams.
Modules are delivered as one-week blocks with a general pattern of lecture-based teaching in the morning and group work in the afternoons. Group work is generally based around case studies and practical exercises to embed the techniques introduced in class. Learning subjects in blocks like this allows students to develop knowledge one subject at a time in a logical flow. Not only does that make learning easier for students, but it also prepares students for the transition to a full-time working environment.
1New Product Development is a new module proposed (but not yet confirmed) for 2017-18.
