Related responsibilities include the development of the UCL Research Frontiers programme, focusing on curiosity-driven scholarship in the science and humanities.
Ian joined UCL in 2009 from the Wellcome Trust, where he held responsibility for developing and running grants programmes relating to Neuroscience and Mental Health, Population and Reproductive Health, and collaboration between UK biomedical scientists and researchers in former Soviet bloc countries.
