Programme Aims
This multidisciplinary programme covers a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal topics including basic science and clinical aspects of musculoskeletal disease. The programme emphasises the four major musculoskeletal areas as identified by the Bone and Joint Decade – arthritis, osteoporosis, trauma and spinal disorders, as well as transferable skills and research methodology.
It is suitable for medical
trainees, especially in orthopaedics, rheumatology and geriatrics; GPs,
nurses, osteopaths, physiotherapists, and Allied Health Professionals;
biologists, bioengineers and pharmaceutical or medical devices industry
trainees.
For distance learning students a local supervisor and a local mentor is provided. The local mentor is usually a senior member of staff within the Institute. The supervisor is preferably a head of department or consultant. The CV for local mentor and supervisor, together with their supporting letter should be sent with the application form or email to Dr Jia Hua.
Duration of Programme (for both in-house and distance students) - 12 months full-time, up to five years flexible/ module based, commencing September 09.
Entry Requirements: Second-class Honours degree or equivalent
For overseas students, IELTS score of 6.5
For distance learning students: Local supervisor and a local mentor
