Entry requirements

A minimum of a second-class medical degree or UK Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. For overseas students a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 is required.

If the distance learning mode of study is selected, it is essential that all students have regular access to a personal computer, the internet and have acquired basic skills in their use. Specific computer requirements are needed and these will be published with the course literature.

How to apply

Students are advised to apply as early as possible due to competition for places. Those applying for scholarship funding (particularly overseas applicants) should take note of the application deadline.

The deadline for applications is 21 August 2015.

Who can apply?

This programme is aimed at: medical trainees, with an interest in orthopaedics, rheumatology, geriatrics and sports medicine; GPs; osteopaths and complementary medicine professionals; nurses, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals; biologists and engineers; industry trainees for the pharmaceutical or medical device companies; and health service managers.

When we assess your application we would like to learn:

  • why you want to study the programme at graduate level
  • why you want to study the programme at UCL
  • what particularly attracts you to this programme
  • how your academic and professional background meets the demands of this programme
  • where you would like to go professionally with your degree

Together with essential academic requirements, the personal statement is your opportunity to illustrate whether your reasons for applying to this programme match what the programme will deliver.
