Action Group Project 2009-10

book cycle logo

Individuals working together to create change is a cornerstone of global citizenship, and the Pass-It-On Book Cycle revolves around this premise.

Our idea is a simple one: books contain knowledge essential to education and long-term self-sustainability, and therefore providing people who lack books with them is a direct step towards positive change. Through book donation boxes, advocacy rallies, direct-to-faculty publicity, and other action oriented endeavours, The Pass-It-On Book Cycle is collecting books to send to Tanzania, where they will stock otherwise book-barren schools and libraries.

The Pass-It-On Book Cycle also realises that you must not neglect the local while looking globally. That’s why we’re recycling some of the books by passing them on to local London hospitals, shelters, and hostels that could use them most.

Environmentally friendly, globally minded, and locally invested. They may be small steps, but they’re steps forward.

Please donate your books by placing them in one of the book donation boxes located in the Print Room Café, the Cruciform library, or the 2nd floor of the Bloomsbury building.

Or e-mail us at PassItOnBookCycle@yahoo.com and we’ll come get them from you!
