This will be a particularly special session to celebrate the end of term and the final Ad Hoc of 2011. We have a rare opportunity to converse with W.H. (Bill) Brock about his latest book: 'The Case of the Poisonous Socks: Tales from Chemistry'.
Bill Brock, an alumni of UCL, is Emeritus Professor in the History of Science at the University of Leicester. He is a prize winning scholar, having been awarded both ACS's Dexter Prize for the History of Chemistry and the Roy G. Neville Prize in Bibliography and Biography for his research in the History of Science. Our reading from his most recent book 'The case of Poinsonous Socks' will be part one, entitled 'Chemical Futures' (reading material will be sent out shortly).
As this will be our last session before Christmas, we hope to enjoy a mince pie with our speaker before heading out for dinner. If you would like to join us for dinner please let me know before Friday 2nd December.
