Material Histories of Chemistry

19 December 2013

Dr Simon Werrett organized a one-day workshop at UCL on December 14, 2013, on the history of material culture and chemistry, circa 1760-1840. Participants explored the circulation of materials, recycling, and 'cheap chemistry' in the age of the Chemical Revolution. This was the first meeting of a research cluster attached to the project "Situating Chemistry 1760-1840", being run from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. A full report on the meeting will appear on the Situating Chemistry website soon.
