What happens next
Over the coming months, Newham Council’s cabinet will consider the principles of a future land transaction with UCL.
During 2013, UCL and its team will negotiate the complex arrangements necessary to acquire the site. We will also prepare, with Newham Council, a masterplan for UCL Stratford, which will inform detailed planning and development from 2014 onwards.
Throughout the process, UCL will remain committed to working with Newham Council to ensure that the Council is able to fulfil the commitments and undertaking made in the Residents Charter agreed between the Council and residents of the Carpenters Estate.
UCL, alongside Newham Council, will work openly and actively to engage with:
• academic faculties
• UCL staff and students
• UCL partners and collaborators
• Carpenters Estate residents
• the local community
• local businesses
• other key partners and stakeholders.
