The UK Centre for Research & Innovation (UKCMRI) changed its name to The Francis Crick Institute on Monday 27th June

28 June 2011

The name honours of one of the United Kingdom's greatest scientists, noted for his intelligence, openness to new ideas, for switching disciplines from physics to biology, and his collaborations – not least with James Watson, with whom he discovered the triple helix structure of DNA.
