Deaths

UCL marks the deaths of current and former members of staff, and of Fellows and Honorary Fellows of UCL with formal notices, posted in the main entrances to the Cloisters.

The UCL flag on the Portico is lowered to half-mast for the duration of the day on which the notice is posted. These notices are also included in UCL News Online.

To arrange a death notice to be posted, please contact Communications: x09725.

Please note that the preparation of death notices requires liaison with the Records Office and/or Human Resources. In some cases the confirmation of details can take a matter of days. For this reason it is advisable for you to consider also using quicker methods of notifying colleagues – such as by email – particularly in the case of the death of a current member of staff.
