Dr. Urszula Chowaniec’s project on Language, Literature and Gender - Democracy as Cultural Practices (in short Gendering Democracy) is devoted to analysing various intersections between cultural phenomena and the notion(s) of democracy from the broad gender perspective. Ideas such as age, health, abortion, and rhetoric of social dismissal are part of the research. The project aims at presenting Polish culture on the broaden perspective as part of the research on democracy as cultural practices.

In the academic year 2016/2017 Urszula Chowaniec plans a seminar on philosophical elaborations on the controversial events in Poland in regards to body politics (Autumn 2016, 27th of October) and the seminar on the phenomenon of ridiculing the language of gender studies and the language of hatred in Polish public debate by dr Maciej Duda (Poznań University, Spring 2017).
