Dr Ivana Vrtič

Croatian Lector

Ivana has been teaching at SSEES since 2010. She has been teaching at all levels, including evening classes and online classes.

Before coming to London, Ivana worked for the Institute of Croatian Language and Linguistics in Zagreb. She studied Croatian language and literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She holds a PhD degree from the University of Zagreb. Her doctoral thesis was on historical syntax (syntactic borrowing from Latin).

Ivana’s research focus lies in the area of historical syntax, textual criticism, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, news media language, and e-learning.
