School of Public Policy Careers for Postgraduate Students

Your career goals after studying with us

Graduate students

The provision of careers information is very important for our postgraduate students and so we work closely with our UCL Careers Advisors and the Departmental Careers Tutor, Professor Robert Hazell to arrange a number of career events for students throughout the year.

Our past students have gone on to pursue careers within a range of sectors including: Public Administration and Defence, International Bodies and Research and Development.

"SPP provide a fantastic bridge between my early work experience and my subsequent career. The course offered a useful balance between Public Policy theories and their practical application. The weekly guest seminars provided a fantastic opportunity to interact with leading academics and practitioners in the field"
Julian Knott, MSc International Public Policy, 2005-06.
"I will never forget the remarkable support I got from my professors and colleagues throughout my year at UCL. The knowledge and experience I gained enabled me to secure a job at Amnesty International in London."
Dareen Khalifa, MA Human Rights, 2011-12.
"I feel immensely fortunate to have studied at SPP before beginning my legal career. The MSc program not only provided a foundation for further research but it also has shaped my thinking about issues that I encounter each day as a lawyer.”
Jonathan Bond, MSc Public Policy, 2004-05.
"“Overall, I feel like my MSc has given me a crucial advantage at the outset of my international career. I’m proud to be a graduate of University College London’s School of Public Policy. The good names of UCL and SPP will open doors for you, and give you the confidence to walk through them.”
Dylan White MSc IPP 2010-11.
