Duties and Responsibilities
The Department wishes to appoint a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the administrative team of this friendly university department. The post is required to provide high-level support to the administration of the Department's teaching programmes.
The post holder is responsible for the efficient administration of student assessment, including essays and exams and for maintaining and reporting on attendance. The successful candidate will also provide support to committees and will contribute to teaching administration as a whole. The post holder will be a key member of the administrative team and will be required to establish good working relationships with
Departmental academic and administrative staff with whom they will work closely.
Key Requirements
Experience of a similar role within Higher Education is essential. Applicants must have an enthusiastic and proactive approach, will be able to work independently as well as a member of a team and must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills. They will possess the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and be able to prioritise competing demands while ensuring a quality customer service. The role involves contact and communication with students and the general public so a polite and helpful attitude is essential.
