Dr Steven Robinson
Teaching Fellow in European Politics
Steven joined the department in September 2013 as Teaching fellow in EU politics and teaches the courses The Politics of the European Union (POLS6006A/B) and Policy-Making and Regulation in Europe (PUBLG016).
Prior to coming to UCL, he completed my PhD in Politics at Newcastle University. His doctoral thesis assessed the Europeanisation of Portuguese foreign and security policy. He also holds an MA in Politics (Research) and a BA (Hons) in Government and European Union Studies from the same institution.
In 2010, he served as a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon and received a research grant from the Camões Institute, the cultural arm of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to fund his PhD field research interviewing policy-makers in Lisbon.
His research interests include: the EU as an international actor; Portuguese foreign policy; the politics of the Lusophone world; transnational security co-operation mechanisms; the CFSP and CSDP; Europeanisation; researching and theorising institutional continuity and change; and public policy-making in the European Union.
