BA Hispanic Studies
The Hispanic Studies BA combines the study of Spanish language with courses in film and literature, covering literary genres such as narrative drama, poetry, women’s writing, and eras from the early modern and colonial period to modern Spanish literature and the literature of Latin America after Independence.
During your third year you will undertake a course of study at a university in a Spanish-speaking country - we currently have links with universities in Spain, Mexico, Chile and Argentina
Candidates will be required to complete courses to the value of 13 course units, including:
| a) | three CU in Spanish Language |
| b) | at least eight CU in Spanish and Latin American Literature or Film, including SPAN1210 SPAN1220 |
| c) | the Year Abroad Report - equivalent to one CU. |
Up to one CU may be taken from other schemes of study, including Latin American History, subject to the approval of the SELCS undergraduate tutor and the department(s) concerned.
