Dr David Henn
Dr Henn is Honorary Reader of the department. His
principal research interests are Spanish fiction and Spanish travel
literature of the period from 1850 to the present day. He is the author
of The Early Pardo Bazán: Theme and Narrative Technique in the Novels of 1879-89 (1988); C. J. Cela: ‘La colmena’ (second edition 1997), and Old Spain and New Spain: The Travel Narratives of Camilo José Cela (2004).
As well as publishing numerous articles on the fiction and travel
writing of Emilia Pardo Bazán and Cela, he has also published articles
on the work of Pío Baroja, Andrés Carranque de Ríos, Ramón Gómez de la
Serna, Juan Goytisolo, Julio Llamazares, Benito Pérez Galdós, Ramón
Sender, and on the writing of the Portuguese author, José Saramago.
