SLMS Photography Competition: Photosynthesis
The School of Life and Medical Sciences is running a competition for high calibre, creative and relevant photographs of Research, Professional and Teaching activity within its community.
The competition is open to all UCL staff and students. Entrants may enter one photograph per themed category below.

How to Enter
All entries must be emailed with a completed entry form to email@example.com.
Each entry should include a brief synopsis of the Research or Science behind the image.
First prize will be a mini-IPAD in each case + an Apple Camera Connection Kit for downloading, viewing and sharing your photos on the go.
Entries will close Friday 25th April 2014 at midnight.
Terms and Conditions
The competition is open to all staff and students at UCL, its associated Institutes, Divisions, laboratories and hospitals.
Entrants may submit one photograph per category (maximum of 3 in total) as their entry.
All images must be the original work of the photographer and be of Scientific Research, Professional and Clinical or Teaching activity within UCL and its departments.
All images should include the photographer's name, position and department on the completed entry form, and entrants must have obtained permission from any individuals featured in the photographs.
Images should be over 2MB but not exceed 10MB, and must be saved as JPEG files with the photographer's name and category the image is entered for in the file name and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If the file is too large to email please send via CD to Emily Morrison, SLMS, Suite 1a Maple House, 149 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 7NF.
Images will be judged on artistic merit, interpretation of the theme(s), and the quality of the photograph.
Entries will close at midnight on 14th April 2014. Judging will then take place and the winners and runners up for each category will be announced 1st May 2014.
Entrants will retain copyright of the images they submit. By entering the competition all entrants grant UCL royalty-free non-exclusive licence to publish and exhibit their photographs in print, on their websites or in any other media. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses. While we make every effort to credit photographers, we cannot guarantee that every future use of the photographs will include the photographer's name.
Any images that are deemed to be inappropriate or in breach of these terms and conditions will be disqualified from the competition. This includes images that may be offensive, previously published, copyrighted (by somebody other than the entrant) or otherwise contrary to the ethos and goodwill of the competition.
Please note that any personal data collected as part of the competition will be treated in accordance with UCL's data protection policies.
Please note that in no event shall UCL be liable for any damages whatsoever resulting from, or in connection with, access or participation in the competition.
