Research Activities
Education Description
I have 2 main roles in the undergraduate educational field. I have been involved in the UCL intercalated BSc in primary health care for 11 years, leading it for the first 7 years. This course is the first internationally and recruits students from across the UK and has produced over 100 graduates, who are GPs and hospital doctors (including MB PhD transfers, and doctoral students). The course has been evaluated, and the 3rd publication about the course focusing on student research projects in the community has been published.
My other role is Yr 3 UCL lead for community based teaching, with 380 students placed in 3 courses including medicine in the community component of the general medicine firm, primary care involvement in the clinical introductory course and care of the older person courses all based in local general practices. My role is overseeing these programmes. I am also actively involved in the firm management through the steering groups (MMG).
