Research Description

My research involves the development of magnetic resonance techniques and their applications in brain disease of childhood. The techniques that we use include quantitative structural MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, perfusion imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and functional MRI. Groups of children that we investigate include patients with epilepsy, patients with cerebrovascular disease, and children with specific cognitive (eg memory) impairments. The research involves extensive collaboration across many disciplines, including magnetic resonance physics, neuroadiology, developmental cognitive neuroscience and paediatric neurology.
