A Conversation with Lorenza Mazzetti, including  rare screenings of her two London films K (1954) and Together (1956) is taking place at Birkbeck Viewing Theatre, 46 Gordon Square, London WC1 0PH, from 3.00 - 5.30pm on Thursday 14 March 2013. Please note that the event is fully booked.

Alumnus Sean Hillen has participated in Donald Taylor Black’s new Irish Film Board-funded documentary, Skin in the Game, which examines the current financial crisis through responses of a number of artists who are using it as subject matter for their work. The film will be screened at the Irish Film Institute, 6 Eustace Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 at 6.30pm on Tuesday 12th March 2013. See www.ifi.ie/film/skin-in-the-game.

Martine Poppe is the winner of the Provost's portrait competition, to commemorate the end of UCL Provost Malcolm Grant's term of office, funded by UCL alumnus Mr Vincent Cheung. The result was announced on 25 February 2013.

The competition, which was open to students and recent graduates of the Slade School of Fine Art, took the form of a sketching session last summer, from which five finalists were chosen: paintings by Martine Poppe, Ishai Rimmer, Sorcha Williams, a photograph by Thomas Jenkins and embroidered panel by Tom Worsfield.

Larry Achiampong will perform a DJ set, presenting Meh Mogya - a project sampling Ghanian Highlife music, preceded by a talk establishing his connection to the records used, establishing their cultural, social and political context and his relationship with sound and sampling as a medium at The NewBridge Project, 18 New Bridge Street West, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8AW at 6pm on Friday 8 March 2013. Voting has now opened for Connect 10 which is hosted by Culture 24 and offers an opportunity for all UK Museums to stay open late May 16-18th, to invite a new audience in. Connect 10 selects 10 artists to be paired up with 10 selected Museums in order to create some fun interactive installations to draw more attention. The artists this year include alumni Martin Creed and Julia Vogl. See www.culture24.org.uk.

Filmpoem by Senior Lecturer Sharon Morris and works by Alumni Lizzie Hughes and Anne Tallentire are featured in Lucy Reynolds' film Anthology, which is showing in Café Curio at Camden Arts Centre, Arkwright Road, London NW3 6DG, from 7pm - 8.30pm on Wednesday 20 February 2013. The evening also includes live perfomances featuring Lizzie Hughes and Sharon Morris.
