Henry Galano – BA/BFA

Bending in and out of the digital realm I stage site-specific interventions, transforming the space into an alternate narrative or situation. These works are not didactic but research-intensive and dictated by pre-existing architectural and contextual properties of a space.

Digital technologies forefront my practice, in the work’s physical production and to understand the functionalities of a space, which are then played with when crafting a liminal ecosystem.

I utilise performance and cabaret to interject myself into the work and consider it from romantically introspective viewpoint. This includes live vocal performances or through the proxy of a digital character, but I find the sound used in this way acts as a binding aura synthesising the constituents of an installation together.
