Junction: North London Cultural Consortium is a creative collaboration between arts organisations; a place to discover art, science, dance and events in North London.

Junction: North London Cultural Consortium is a creative collaboration between arts organisations; a place to discover art, science, dance and events in North London. By drawing on the strength of its members the Consortium makes a significant contribution to the cultural landscape of North London through a rich programme of collective and independent activities, commissions and artists’ projects.

Launch weekend - 28 - 29 April 2012

The launch for Junction: North London Cultural Consortium was held at Camden Arts Centre with speeches by Jenni Lomax, Director Camden Arts Centre; Eddie Nixon, Artistic Director The Place and the artist Richard Wentworth.

The launch weekend bought together a series of exhibitions, performances and specially commissioned, artist led walks around King’s Cross by Rebecca Birch, Simon Faithfull, Tanya Loi and Katherine Midgley all responding in different ways to the history, environment and people of the area. These are now available as free downloads in the Podcast section of this website.

To accompany their walks Simon Faithfull produced a limited edition publication based on the Lake District Wainwright Guides and Rebecca Birch made a new film work, And The Days Run Away, which was exhibited in the Reading Room at Camden Arts Centre.

Students from Central Saint Martins, UAL and Slade School of Fine Art, UCL presented a series of performances over the opening weekend in a vacant shop on Woburn walk.
