Healed
of the wretched wound forced on it by the commandment
that it immortalise, representation has become the turbulent
freedom of mortality, the public art of forgetting, the publicising
of amnesia, the publication of erasure. Love now
for us, the possibility of solidarity, is decorated
with the emblems of a changing world, composting the dying to provide the
mulch for a potent and irrevocable evolution towards a future in which
our very loss alone allows us to participate.
