Dear readers,

We apologise for the prolonged absence in our web presence; we, the ladies of the press*, were busy obtaining our degrees whilst getting our act together for Cluster Act Two and would like to thank everyone for their patience and enthusiasm. Our current forecast for the completion of Two is for the end of August, ready for print in early September. We have had a wonderful and challenging array of proposals and we expect this upcoming issue to be nothing like our first—it is, indeed, double the trouble. This is to briefly update our latest endeavours as a publishing team:

Slade School of Fine Art BA Degree Show 2008
We publicised a call for Cluster two alongside a reading stand showcasing both the regular and special edition Cluster Issue 1: As many works as dots. Many thanks to those of you who came along!

Cluster Office
We are thrilled to announce that the Cluster Arts Magazine office is now officially based in a warehouse on the Isle of Dogs. We have been busy converting the space (with purpose bookshelves and wildflowers to suit) in the past weeks, as though we haven’t had enough of paint rollers and brilliant white while we set up for our degree show a month prior…

Meet the new lady*
Cluster has another lady in the press team this summer! Meet Tomoko Aoki, who studied with us at the Slade and will be graduating in 2009; she has joined our team this summer as an intern helping us update our website and designing page layouts and is proving to be a big help already. Way to go, lady!

Forthcoming events
It is now confirmed that we will have a presence at the Small Publisher’s Fair, October 24-25, 2008 at Conway Hall in Holborn, London. This is a fantastic small book fair, filled with treasures and limited edition books from all walks of artistic life. It is worth an afternoon browse. We are also curating a 30 minute slot of performances and readings, for which details are to be confirmed. Watch this space!

Happy summer to you all and, for those of you in the UK, enjoy the wonderful weather while it lasts (we’re trying).

It’s been a while since we’ve last updated, though Ana and I have been on full throttle since September! I thought I should post a quick note as we haven’t been in touch with some of you for a while now. I am glad to announce that we have pretty much secured all of our artists, and the final manuscript will be going to the press in the next couple of weeks.

It’s a very exciting time for us, and we hope you would be just as excited as we are…

We are hoping to host a launch party of the book in the first week of December (date unconfirmed yet), and we cordially invite everybody interested, and especially for all you lovely people who’s agreed to contribute to the inaugural issue of Cluster Arts Magazine! When the time comes, you will know. Trust me.

A vacation according to Renée

cavic & o’drobinak art press will be on vacation from 23 July to 5 August 2007. Of course we will still be accepting submissions and will re-open the press desk on 6 August. Wonderful summer wishes to everyone in London: meanwhile we’ll be enjoying our “respective” holidays…(refer to images above).

Best,

Hello all, and thanks for those of you who have kindly sent us submissions already! And for those of you sweating in your palms because it looks like you’re going to miss out on the 1 August 07 deadline, not to worry! The proposals/ideas/sketches deadline is still 1 August but we have extended the the final deadline, which is now 1 September 07. Hurray!

Hello there, and welcome to Cluster. I imagine you are looking at this website because you have been invited to participate in our magazine by either Ana or myself. I sincerely hope you are interested, and we are still collecting material until 1 August 2007 so give us a shout, we’d love to get in touch. We will begin putting spreads together during August and regularly update with sample pages so pop in again sometime soon, you might find something new.
