Use the menu on your left to find out more about UCLIC, our research, the people at UCLIC and our masters program in Human-Computer Interaction. To demonstrate just how important it is to try and improve our interactions with technology, see *Why buttons go bad*... This was the winning entry by some of our students in an internal 'Digital Stories competition' as part of our MSc course in Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics. |

'The next video illustrates the confusion caused by 'chaos buttons' as users attempt to 'race' different models of microwave. The winner will likely be a mix of the racer's ability to ride the microwave, the microwave's ease of use, the task and the context. Who will win?? You decide!! This video tied for third place in a recent HFES YouTube video contest about communicating Human Factors research to the general public - well done Dom, Chris and Maartje! Dom has also just received the 'Golden mouse award' for this video at the CHI video showcase for 'best thought piece'!
