Research & Teaching Profile

Research Interests: Clinical epidemiology with a special interest in prognosis of angina.
Research Description: Natalie is research programme manager for the Clinical Epidemiology Group. The work of the Group aims to investigate the aetiology and prognosis of specific coronary phenotypes. By using bespoke cohort studies (primarily among people with established disease), complemented by systematic reviews and large clinical datasets, such as the General Practice Research Database and the Myocardial Infarction National Audit Project, the team is investigating a range factors which lead to the onset and progression of stable angina and prognostically important sub-types of heart attack (e.g. those with and without the electrocardiographic finding of an elevated ST segment).
