Science Week
Week commencing 31st October 2011
Our Science Themed Week includes a range of events and activities for those wanting to learn more about this sector and the range of opportunities available to graduates in it. If you haven't attended a Sector Themed Week Event before, you may find the information on our Themed Weeks Information page useful. This page will also include information on handouts or resources relevant to the week.
The programme for the Science Week is as follows:
Science Careers Explained
Monday 31st October: 1pm - 2pm
This one hour
lunchtime session with Diana Garnham from The Science Council aims to provide an overview of the
science sector, focussing on current big issues in the sector and labour market
information including how and where to find jobs.
Careers in Science Forum
Monday 31st October: 5.30pm – 7.30pm
An evening of
panel discussion and networking with scientists from a variety of sectors. Find out more...
PhD Forum for Life Scientists
Tuesday 1st November: 1pm – 2pm
A panel
session with current PhD Students and admissions tutors from Cancer Research UK and
UCL. Aimed at any life science student considering a PhD.
Unilever Presentation
Tuesday 1st November: 5.30pm
This event is part of our Employer Presentations programme and may be of interest to scientists.
