On July 5/6 the Department of Economics is organizing the 1st UCL Economics PhD Alumni conference. The event will feature 12 talks from an outstanding selection of the department's PhD alumni:
- Nick Bloom, PhD UCL 2002, associate professor at Stanford, fellow of the Econometric Society, winner of the 2010 Frisch Medal of the Econometric Society
- Luigi Pistaferri, PhD UCL 1999, professor of economics at Stanford, co-editor of the American Economic Review
- John van Reenen, PhD UCL 1993, professor of economics at LSE, director of the CEP, fellow of the British Academy, winner of the 2009 Yrja Jannsson Award (awarded to the best European economist under 45 years of age)
- Uta Schoenberg, PhD UCL 2004, reader at UCL, editor of the Journal of Labor Economics
The conference is organized by Nick Bloom, Luigi Pistaferri (both at Stanford) and by Richard Blundell and Morten O. Ravn (both UCL).
