The Institutional Research Information System (IRIS) is the research portal for UCL. Identify the research activities of researchers, research groups, research centres and interdisciplinary networks across the whole of UCL. IRIS provides a searchable interface to UCL research activities, including all publications by UCL authors.

  • Developed in-house by ISD
Registration requirements
- All UCL users can view and search IRIS. Only research staff are provided with a personal research profile by default.
System requirements
- HTML-based website, compatible with most modern browsers.

System features

  • Search for researchers
    Find UCL researchers by searching on a broad range of criteria, including name, research area, department and academic unit.
  • Search for publications
    Find any publication by a UCL author. Search criteria includes title and author, and full text searches of abstracts are possible where available.
  • Maintain research profile
    As a member of UCL research staff you will be able to maintain and update a research biography with additional information.
  • Associate yourself with research themes, groups and activities
    As a UCL research staff member you will be able to show yourself as being a member of a research group, associate yourself with a current research activity or any overarching research theme.
  • Reuse of research profile data in personal or departmental websites
    There is a plug-in for the UCL content management system (SILVA) that allows the IRIS profile data to be embedded in other UCL websites such as research group, department or individual pages.
