Faroese 2
Course code: SCAN7005.
Course unit value: 0.5.
This course follows on from Faroese I. The course aims to build on the students’ prior knowledge of Faroese language and culture. The course will be very similar in structure to Faroese I and will incorporate the study of nine Faroese objects, one of which will form the basis for a closer look at an aspect of Faroese language and culture each week. Faroese will be used as much as possible in class.
The course will culminate in an exhibition, showcasing the aspects of Faroese culture that have been studied over the course of the year.
Assessment: one oral examination (20%); one one-hour written examination (30%); and one 1500 word coursework project (50%).
