French Essay
Course code: FREN4003.
Course unit value: 0.5.
This final-year course is compulsory for single-subject students. It is also available to francophone students who wish to take this instead of FREN4002 (see note for FREN4002). It aims to train them to produce written French at the appropriate discursive level, and to develop the skills of building and developing an argument in French. The course is taught in French.
Assessment: one unseen three-hour written examination (100%). Satisfactory completion of the coursework is normally a prerequisite for examination entry.
