Reading French Texts

This course introduces students to three literary genres of writing in French and seeks to equip them with the analytical skills they will need in subsequent years to study texts in greater depth.

It is available to non-specialist students from outside the department who have a B or higher in French at GCE A level.

ESPS students for whom French is a minor language choose between this course and FREN1101 (The Making of Modern France).

Tutor: Dr Isabelle Moreau

Assessment: one unseen two-hour examination (100%). Satisfactory completion of the coursework is normally a prerequisite for examination entry.
