SELCS

Attendance

Attendance of all lectures, seminars and tutorials is mandatory. It is your responsibility to sign -- not just initial, please -- the register circulated at the beginning of each class.

The Faculty requires students to attend at least 70% of each course. This is a minimum; some departments have more stringent attendance requirements and it is, again, your responsibility to familiarize yourself with them. If you fail to meet the course attendance requirements, you may be debarred from sitting examinations or, for those courses assessed solely by coursework, from submitting coursework. This will mean that you will be deemed to have failed the course irrespective of the merits of your assessed work.

If you are unable to attend classes of whatever kind for more than two consecutive days, you must immediately notify your Departmental Coordinator or Programme Admininstrator. If you are absent for one week or more, you must also report to the School Undergraduate Tutor on your return, bringing with you a medical certificate or other appropriate documentation.
