School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS)

Welcome to UCL Scandinavian Studies! We teach and research the language, literature, history, linguistics and visual culture of Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway and Sweden from medieval times to the present day. Our department is also home to Norvik Press, the UK's only press specialising in Nordic literature and culture. The department is housed within the School of European Languages, Culture & Society.

Professor Helena Forsås-Scott, 1945-2015
