SELCS Visitor Students
Individual undergraduate and postgraduate courses can be
taken, subject to the course tutor's consent, by students of other
universities and members of the public that are interested in the subject matter of the course. The School also welcomes visiting research students, as indicated below.
Undergraduate
Throughout each year of our undergraduate degrees students study 4.0cu (course units). Courses are either 1cu or 0.5cu. Please note that tuition fees for full-time undergraduate study are £9,000 from 2012/13.
The prices for September 2012 entry are:
For a course worth 1cu
- The course plus all course work and all parts of assessment (exams, essays) is £2000
- The course plus all course work without completing the assessed work is £1000
- Attendance of the course without submitting course work or completing any form of assessment is £500
For a course worth 0.5cu
- The course plus all course work and all parts of assessment (exams, essays) is £1000
- The course plus all course work without completing the assessed work is £500
- Attendance of the course without submitting course work or completing any form of assessment is £250
MA courses
MA degrees comprise 180 credits. Individual courses are all worth 30 credits. Tution fees for full-time MA study from 2012/13 is £7,750.
The prices for September 2012 entry are:
For a course worth 45 credits
- The course plus all course work and all parts of assessment (exams, essays) is £1,875
- The course plus all course work without completing the assessed work is £937
- Attendance of the course without submitting course work or completing any form of assessment is £468
For a course worth 30 credits
- The course plus all course work and all parts of assessment (exams, essays) is £1,250
- The course plus all course work without completing the assessed work is £625
- Attendance of the course without submitting course work or completing any form of assessment is £312
For a course worth 15 credits
- The course plus all course work and all parts of assessment (exams, essays) is £625
- The course plus all course work without completing the assessed work is £312
- Attendance of the course without submitting course work or completing any form of assessment is £156
Visiting research students
The School welcomes visiting research students. If you are registered for a research degree at an overseas university, you may come to UCL to further your research for your degree. The application process and fee arrangements are explained on the UCL webpage Visiting Research Students.
Admissions
If you are interested in taking an undergraduate or MA course as an auditing student, please contact the School Admissions Officer.
Fee refunds
Auditing students are expected to pay for their course before it commences. The School's return policy entitles auditing students who withdraw from a course before Friday 12 October to receive a 75% refund.
