SCAN4201 - Dissertation in Scandinavian Studies
Value: 1.0 course unit
Convenor: Dr Haki Antonsson
Assessment: 10,000 word essay (100%).
This module gives students the opportunity to pursue a topic of interest to them in depth; to produce work that is based on original research; and to develop their research techniques and skills in academic writing.
Students must choose a subject area for their dissertation that is directly related to one of the fourth-year content modules that they are taking. The member of staff who is responsible for that module will be assigned to supervise the dissertation, and students should consult with that member of staff as soon as possible at the start of the academic year. Supervisors will meet with students at mutually agreed intervals (no less than twice per term) to discuss their work.
