For the majority of scholarships, you must be in receipt of an offer to be eligible for consideration. Please bear in mind that it can take up to four weeks from the date of a completed application's being received by the department for a decision to be made, and a formal offer to be processed.
It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure that he or she applies in good time, to allow references to be submitted and an offer to be made. Applicants who do not hold an offer by a scholarship's deadline will be excluded from the competition for that scholarship.

SPANG019 - Advanced Translation from and into Spanish
Value: 30 credits
Tutors: Dr Alexander Samson, Dr Stephen Fay
Assessment: Students are assessed by coursework (50%) and by a 3-hour exam (50%) consisting of advanced unseen translation exercises. The coursework consists of EITHER a translation of a literary or historical text + commentary thereon (5,000 words in total) OR the subtitling of a brief film.
This MA module , “Translation from and into Spanish”, consists of practical translation exercises both from Spanish into English and from English into Spanish, covering a range of different texts and registers, including technical Spanish. It aims to develop linguistic and comprehension skills to a highly advanced level as well as enhance the understanding of the translation process.
