Office hours: Fridays 12.30-2.30pm

Education: BA in English and Italian (Cambridge); MA in Italian Studies (UCL)

Research interests:

I am a PhD student in the Italian Department at University College London, supervised by Prof. Robert Lumley and Dr. Florian Mussgnug. My doctoral work focuses on the poetry of the Holocaust, and I am interested in all cultural responses to the Shoah in Italy. My MA dissertation explored how poetry functions as testimony, focusing on Primo Levi and Edith Bruck; my PhD seeks to engage with a broader range of poetry by exploring not only the poetry of poets, but that of prose writers and those who have been traditionally viewed as 'non-writers', such as Roma and Sinti. I have spoken at events in Italy to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, and have spent a considerable amount of time in Rome, Milan and Faenza. I am teaching on the Italian Language courses to undergraduates.
