The National Police Improvement Agency is tasked to manage and deliver Critical National Services to UK police forces which include a Serious Crime Analysis Section leading the way in the field of behavioural crime analysis and the National DNA database, as well as developing and managing technology and support services to help frontline policing. Jeremy Crump, Strategy Director at the NPIA, came to SECReT to engage our students in a discussion around the future needs of UK police forces and the directions the NPIA feels research activity should move in to support those needs.

The focus of the discussion was the new national police improvement strategy encapsulated in the 2010 Government consultation document, Policing in the 21st Century: Re-connecting the police and the people.
