Goldman Sachs, one of the world’s largest investment banks, invited the SECReT students to their central London offices to meet staff from Goldman Sach’s Office of Global Security. Director of the OGS, Nicholas Alston (who now sits on the Advisory Board of SECReT), discussed the bank’s approach to securing its customers, technical infrastructure, personnel and physical assets around the globe including risk assessment strategies, intelligence gathering and electronic and physical countermeasures against a wide spectrum of threats such as identity theft, fraud and kidnapping.

Staff members from different parts of the organisation were on hand to discuss their own specialist areas such as Crisis Management, Investigations, Risk assessment methodologies and security technology projects, and Regional Technology Risk - Information Assurance and BCP. The seminar also included an introduction from the Human Resources department inviting graduating students from the SECReT programme to consider the bank as a potential employer.
