UCL SECReT is the new £17m national centre for PhD training in security and crime science at University College London, the first centre of its kind in Europe. The Centre offers the most comprehensive integrated PhD programme for students wishing to pursue multidisciplinary security or crime-related research degrees.
UCL SECReT recruits its doctoral students from a range of scientific backgrounds to pursue research in crime or security domains across the engineering and social sciences. Students can enter the programme through a number of funding routes (self-funded, industry sponsorship, scholarships) but for those students who apply for our 11 EPSRC scholarships available annually we expect their research to be interdisciplinary and to involve some 'hard science' element.
